Atlanta Annie Movie Screening Giveaway – #AnnieMovie

After all the events of the past week, I just keep remembering the song from the Annie movie,  “The sun will come out tomorrow.” I have to admit, I can’t wait for tomorrow.  Annie has been a favorite of mine since I first saw the show in 1984 at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis. It might have been my first musical and it started my lifelong love of musicals that continues to this day.

I am so excited to introduce my sons to this updated version. Unlike previous movie versions, this one is actually set in 2014. Here’s the trailer for it.

I love the ending of this trailer so much when Mr. Stacks and Miss Hannigan have their exchange and he says, “Yes, I do think I’m better than you.” There’s another part when Miss Hannigan says “When did the city get so musical?” – Both of these scenes tell me that there are going to be tons of laughs along with song and dance that the whole family will love!

Here’s more about the new movie.

Academy Award® nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) stars as Annie, a young, happy foster kid who’s also tough enough to make her way on the streets of New York in 2014.  Originally left by her parents as a baby with the promise that they’d be back for her someday, it’s been a hard knock life ever since with her mean foster mom Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz).  But everything’s about to change when the hard-nosed tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) – advised by his brilliant VP, Grace (Rose Byrne) and his shrewd and scheming campaign advisor, Guy (Bobby Cannavale) – makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in.  Stacks believes he’s her guardian angel, but Annie’s self-assured nature and bright, sun-will-come-out-tomorrow outlook on life just might mean it’s the other way around.

The Atlanta screening will happen on Saturday, December 13 at 11:00 am. And in honor of my love for the movie, I’m giving away 5 (Five) family four-packs of tickets. This will be the perfect Christmas activity for the whole family without tons of stress.
