Spotlight of Five Resources to Create a Successful Editorial Calendar

Spotlight of Five Resources to Create a Successful Editorial Calendar (2)

It’s that time of year when everyone is looking forward to 2016. Personally, we’re thinking about our New Year’s Resolutions and most businesses finished their 2016 planning months ago. Like most bloggers, I’m right in the middle of that paradox. My blog is a personal extension of me but it’s still a business.  I hate to admit that as a business, I’m behind on my planning for 2016. I actually have been working on creating my goals but the actual planning of how I'm going to execute in 2016…well, … [Read more...]

Music Monday – Three Songs That Move Me

Music Monday from HeadandForToday

It’s Music Monday here on my blog. My friend Miko from over at Miko Knows asked me last week, “What are three songs that will always move you?” She didn’t put any rules on it so they could be old-school, new-school, religious, secular, anything that moved you. The first two came so easy to me but the third I had to think about just a little longer. For me, music brings back memories of that era in life when I was listening to that song, not just the good but also the bad. I remember who my … [Read more...]

My #TurkeySelfie – Cooking a Perfect Turkey in Three Steps

My Turkey Selfie: Cooking a Perfect Turkey in Three Steps -

It’s almost Turkey time! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it’s relatively low-stress once you finish your menu and/or travel plans. I love being able to gather with family and friends, especially when I’m not doing to the cooking. Every family must have a story of the holiday gone wrong. Mine was when I was pregnant with our oldest and the first Thanksgiving that we hosted friends in our newly purchased house…I cooked the turkey and it looked beautiful BUT wasn’t fully done. … [Read more...]

Thankful for Travel and Creating Memories – #OshKoshKids

Elmo Tuck-In at Beaches Resort

I’ve been counting the things I’m thankful for this month and I have to most certainly count our travels among them. I love our travels because they allow me to truly focus on my family in that moment and capture memories that will last a lifetime. While most of my children’s clothes hold special memories to me, these OshKosh B’Gosh pajamas are going to have even more memories because of our experience with them. Our big highlight from our trip to Turks and Caicos last month was the … [Read more...]

Thankful for Friends

Thankful for Friends

There’s this article floating around the Internet about showing up for your friends and I’m thankful for the circle of people who surround my husband and I as friends.  We're lucky enough that we have both old friends and new friends both groups of whom I'm so incredibly thankful for. Since we were in college at the same time, my husband and I are part of this huge interconnected web of friends with tons of coincidences in between. My husband and I actually did not really know each other … [Read more...]

Thanks to Blogging…

What feels like a long time ago (but was really only two years ago), I started this blog. You can read my first post here and I forgot it was written on March 4 day. What I didn’t forget is that it was written from my husband’s bedside in a Neurological Intensive Care Unit. I started my blog because I wanted to share information that I found helpful with others. I’m not sure exactly what I thought I’d be doing and what I was in for. I think I knew that bloggers could get things but that’s not … [Read more...]

Why I Love the Dove Curly-Haired Emojis #LoveYourCurls

Why I love the New Dove Curly Girl Emojis

Have you heard about Dove Curly-Haired Emojis? Well if you haven’t let me tell you all about them because this one app that I HAD to download and judging by the response of my friends, they love them just as much.  Dove created an answer to a void we didn’t even think of. I have to be honest and say that I don’t use emojis a ton but went Curly-Haired emoji texting crazy with my friends last night. It was so cool to think that I could express myself with an emoji that truly looks like … [Read more...]

Do you need a hug?

Do you need a hug

This evening, my youngest son was in full meltdown mode crying and shouting that I wasn’t listening to him because I wouldn’t give him blueberry muffins as I was driving home and I tried everything. I had talked to him, opened his windows to try and chill him out, ignored him and finally just asked “Do you need a hug?” He said “Yes” and I agreed to give him a hug as soon as we got home which diffused the meltdown. The good thing about my youngest is that he usually verbalizes his … [Read more...]

Six Flags Over Georgia Fright Fest #NothingScarier

Six Flags Fright Fest By Day

Halloween is just a few weeks ago and Six Flags Over Georgia Fright Fest is the perfect place to experience frights and spine tingling chills at new heights with their Fright Fest. Because Six Flags is a theme park, you can rest assured that the Fright Fest has Horrifying Haunts like the Southern Cemetery Conjuring, where you can see spirits of the Lora conjured from the grounds you’re walking on, and Spine Chilling Rides like The Dahlonega Mine Train: Train of Horror. I promise that if its … [Read more...]

The “Not Really A Secret” Secret I’ve Been Keeping

TOP SECRET Not Really Secret

This month has been a doozy for me and I feel like I’ve been keeping this huge secret. The reality is that it’s not a secret but for a huge sharer like me (I tend to tell people IRL so much!), I kept this close. I haven’t even told my family (I’ll figure out if they’re reading my blog now.) A few days after I wrote about childhood cancer, I found a lump in my breast and went through the process of testing to determine it was a benign tumor known as a fibroadenomas. I had a mammogram, … [Read more...]
