How to Train Your Dragon 2 – No Spoiler Review

How to Train Your Dragon 2 Review

One of this summer’s hottest movies for families has to be How to Train Your Dragon 2. Everyone from my cousin (a mom of 3) to my son’s BFF is waiting for it. My family was lucky enough to be able to attend a 3D screening of it earlier this week.

Here are everyone’s thoughts in one line:

My husband: That’s a good story. It was really worth seeing and (…..he had a spoiler in it).

6 year old: I liked Toothless. He’s a nice dragon. When I asked him more about it, he has spoilers too. He didn’t think it was scary though.

Grandma (She was visiting with us): It was a cute story.

Me: I loved the flying scenes and the colors.

If the movie wasn't enough, we were sent a viking hat to try. The whole family loved it.

Overall, it’s a great movie that the whole family will love. The story was interesting and entertaining for the whole family (even grandmas who rarely see kid movies.)  And, you don’t need to see the first one to catch up with this one. The CGI was awesome and it’s a movie that 3D improves and works well with. I would recommend paying for the upgrade.

The only caution is that there are dragons, a death and some fighting. That might be a little sad/scary for your children but it’s a short part of the movie. Most of it is about adventure and finding your own way. There are lots of laughs to balance that out.

If you haven’t a clue about the movie, here’s a trailer for you to check it out.

If you’ve seen it, what do you think about it? Are you planning to?

Looks like a great movie. We just saw the first one via red box. My son really enjoyed it.
Sounds like your son really enjoyed this one. Its always so interesting to learn what kids liked best about movies.
BTW thanks for no spoilers. I can never tell anyone about a movie without telling the whole thing and ruining

It really is it a great movie. One spoiler is that there’s room for a 3. I always feel like it’s hard to do a review with no spoilers. I really want to know what it’s about but then if I tell the whole story, why do you need to bother going???
