Last Thursday, I kicked off my Mother’s Day weekend with a luncheon and Backstage Tour at the MacLand Crossing Chick-Fil-A. It was an event I loved attending because we were able to taste the newest Grilled Chicken menu items, learn more about new products that may be coming to location near you (smoothies anyone?) and take a Backstage Tour. What really made it special for me was hearing the story and passion from their owner/operator Zach Thomas.
One thing that I really like about Chick-Fil-A is that their franchised stores are operated by their owners. In my mind, that means there is a vested interest and ownership in having product and services that they’d want to provide to their family. Zach confirmed this as he shared his path to ownership and management philosophy. I have to say that I personally experienced the excellence in service many times when I’ve visited.
Another thing that was really interesting to me is the WinShape Day Camps. I forgot to ask if this was new but the WinShape Day Camps are an extension of the WinShape Camps that were created by Chick-Fil-A Founder, Truett Cathy. The camps are faith based summer camps with plenty of activities for students who have completed grades 1 – 11. Day Camps are week long experiences in your local communities and I would imagine a great way to ease younger children into camp. I would try it to see how we like it and then maybe extend to an overnight camp later on. If we like the curriculum at the Day Camp, I’m sure we’d love the overnight one.
Back to this visit, we were then served our choice of menu items. I selected the new Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The flavor really does mimic the backyard flavor. The funny thing is that it really is an improvement over the previous grilled chicken sandwich but I liked that one an awful lot. I guess I’m just a fan of Chick-Fil-A. I suppose I should be seeing as how we’re there at least 3 times a week or so.
My favorite part was being able to see backstage. I love learning new things so this was a special treat for me. I can say with true confidence that I know what’s in my food when I visit Chick-Fil-A. I’m a huge fan of the lemonade so I loved seeing the lemon juicier live. There really were tons of lemons ready to be juiced. And the hand breading that they boast of, we had an opportunity to see this in action too! We even were able to see that they use the brand names products as opposed to cheaper generics. Chick-Fil-A is the real thing! I really enjoyed my visit to the MacLand Crossing Chick-Fil-A. While it wasn’t my first, it will most certainly not be my last.
So tell me, have you tried the new Grilled Chicken? If so, what did you think?
