Every day 1 in 5 children in America don’t get the food they need. As a number, that’s 16 million children who are hungry. Food insecurity is never an issue for my family but when I think about the children who are/were in my children’s classes, there is a strong chance that they might need a little extra support.

It’s a big issue that makes me incredibly thankful for organizations like Share Our Strength and their partners like Ted’s Montana Grill who are participating in the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry Campaign from August 29 – October 2.

Dine Out for No Kid Hungry was launched in 2008 in partnership with restaurants and consumers end childhood hunger. Ted’s and its guests have been a partner since the beginning and raised $834,000 to provide more than 8 million additional meals to children facing food insecurity.

Ted’s Montana Grill has set a goal of 3 million meals or $300,000 for 2016. For guests dining out at Ted’s, becoming a partner is as simple as donating $5, $10 or more towards the campaign. As a thank you, Ted’s will provide guests a $5 gift to be used on a future visit. If you’re a wine drinker, Ted’s has entered into a unique partnership with Bison Ridge Wine. Bison Ridge will donate $1 from each glass and $2 for each bottle purchased during the campaign. Ted will match this contribution dollar for dollar at the end of the campaign.

The Menu at Ted’s Montana Grill

While Ted’s partnership is a reason to dine out, their menu more than makes a visit worthwhile. There was a location just down the street from my house so we were pretty much regulars for a while. Every visit we looked forward housemade pickles offered as an appetizer and the cherry lemonades.

The first misconception I have to clear up for people when we talk about Ted’s is that they do serve more than just bison. (I really did have a friend ask me that!). Ted’s menu includes Certified Angus Beef, bison, chicken and seafood. One of my personal favorites is the Salt-and-Pepper trout but I’m just as likely to order a bison burger.

Dessert is always one of my favorites and they do a great job with the housemade desserts.

My family will be Dining Out for No Kid Hungry and at least one visit will be to Ted’s Montana Grill. Let me know if you’ll be doing the same.

Oh my! I’ve never heard of Ted’s Montana Grill. I visited the website and did a search only to find out that we don’t have one in my area – Tampa Bay. The salt and pepper trout looks to be like the dishes that I gravitate for. No Kid Hungry is definitely something worth spreading the word about.
